Mount Bohemia 85 runs to choose from
Getting There By car-U.S. 2 is the only major east-west route through the region. While the distances appear long on the map, there’s very little traffic. By air-Ford Airport in Iron Mountain. There are flights from Milwaukee and Lansing. (The fares are cheaper to Marquette, which is less than two hours away.)
Scenic roadways and breathtaking mountain drives await you in the Western Upper Peninsula. Take a ferry boat to Isle Royale National Park, the largest, oldest and only island national park in the continental United States. If you like to backpack, or just take a walk, visit the Porcupine Mountains Wilderness State Park and enjoy the “million dollar view,” Lake of the Clouds. Don’t leave out downhill skiing in this region of the Upper Peninsula.
Most of the western Upper Peninsula’s interior is lightly populated and most residents live in communities along the border with Wisconsin Current Events

February 8-11 Houghton Winter Carnival featuring more than 50 carved statues some up to 30 feet tall are constructed by students of Michigan Technological University and community members.
