Visit Frankfort to enjoy the beautiful Lake Michigan shoreline, charter boat fishing, boating, skiing, snowmobiling lodging and fine restaurants. There are also many beautiful inland lakes in the area.
Manistee has sandy Lake Michigan beaches similar to Traverse City but not as busy and trendy. Lumber Barons constructed fancy Victorian homes and mansions in this lovely town with the Manistee River running through it. It is an easy drive to the Sleeping Bear Dunes.
Ludington has been a favorite weekend destination for visitors because of it’s beautiful pristine sandy beaches and popular charter fishing. See the Big Sable Point Light House or take the S.S. Badger, a car ferry, makes regular runs across Lake Michigan to Wisconsin.
End your day at a lakeside forest setting, The Interlochen Center for the Arts, and take in an open-air concert performed by some of the world’s most talented youth.
